The closing date for receipt of applications for the Community Awards 2008 is this Friday, 2nd May.

This years Community Awards Ceremony will be held on 13th June. There are 2
extra awards this year and €2500 in prize money!
Best Connect Overall Website Award of €1,000
Best Community Centre Website Award of €1,000
Best Newcomer Website Award of €500 (website live since June 2007)

BLOOD DONORS NEEDED IN OLD BAWN

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service Board’s mobile unit team will be at St. Martin De Porres National School, Heatherview Lawn, Aylesbury/Tallaght on Wednesday 7th May 2008 from 3.00pm to 4.45pm and 7.00pm to 9.30pm. Some 3000 units (pints) of blood are needed overall each week to cater for emergency and routine cases requiring transfusions of blood and blood products in hospitals all over the country. Blood donors are especially needed, at this time, to meet the needs of those who are depending on the resources of the transfusion service to be available to them. If you want any further information about giving blood you can contact the donor services department of the transfusion service in advance of this or indeed any mobile unit donor clinic on 1 850 731 137 or log on to the IBTS web site www.ibts.ie.
